Dublin-Cork-Kerry Loop

Rain, sun and very bendy roads

October 72013

A couple of days ago I got a call from a friend asking if I’d be up for a trip to the Dingle Food Festival to take some photos. Yes, of course! Surely the quickest way from Dublin to Kerry is through Cork, right?

Lunch in the hills with friends

September 282013

I can’t get enough of this place. So with nothing better to do on a promising looking Saturday morning I was headed for the hills with a couple of hiking friends.

In the heart of the Tatras

July 172013

I hopped on the train dreaming of spectacular views and breathtaking photographs I was going to take from the summit of Rysy. I was quickly snapped back to a very cold, wet and misty reality.

The sunny south-east

June 242013

I’ve been very bad and haven’t updated my blog in a while, ooops…

I was in Rosslare for the last two weeks house-sitting and cat-minding at Remote Medicine Ireland HQ. It was pretty rainy and miserable most of the time so I didn’t feel guilty about spending my days in the classroom watching movies on the projector :P

Luckily it wasn’t all dark and grey. It’s amazing how pretty Ireland gets with an occasional ray of sunshine.

June Bank Holiday

June 12013

Wary of the Bank Holiday weekend crowds I decided to stay clear of the very touristy Glendalough and headed towards Glenmalure instead. It was a nice enough day, overcast but relatively warm although higher up the cold breeze made it feel more like early March rather than 1st of June.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. I’m typing this as I try to pass the time at Riga airport. It’s 10:46pm, my flight to Tashkent leaves at 8:15 in the morning. So 9.5 hours to go. Not long now, considering I’ve been here since 8.30am. I’ll try to catch up on sleep in a little bit. I’ve acquired a strategic position in the...

A couple of days ago I got a call from a friend asking if I’d be up for a trip to the Dingle Food Festival to take some photos. Yes, of course! Only then did I realise that my camera was in Cahirciveen. So with no other choice but to take a detour I decided to make a weekend out of it and visit friends in Cork. Surely the quickest way from Dublin to Kerry is...

I can’t get enough of this place. So with nothing better to do on a promising looking Saturday morning I was headed for the hills with a couple of hiking friends. The air down in the valley was very humid and we were sweating buckets while climbing up the fern covered slope of Derrybawn. Luckily, when we got to the top just shy of 500m above sea level, we were...

Earlier this week I decided to take a trip to Owińska, a small village north of Poznań, to check out an abandoned psychiatric hospital. I cycled to Złotniki and through the Biedrusko military training grounds; the entire trip was just over 50 km. Getting into the hospital grounds is a bit tricky and it should be mentioned here that it’s a private property,...

I hopped on the train dreaming of spectacular views and breathtaking photographs I was going to take from the summit of Rysy. I was quickly snapped back to a very cold, wet and misty reality. The overnight train ride from Poznań to Zakopane takes 10.5 hrs. I arrived with 1hr delay and headed towards the main shopping promenade, Krupówki, to pick up last few bits and...
